GoCatering ("GoCatering", "we", "us") is an Australia-wide catering marketplace operated by Cloud Riverdale Pty Ltd. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)).
Information we collect
- Account details — your name, email address, and (for password accounts) a securely hashed password.
- Google sign-in — if you choose "Continue with Google", we receive your name, email address, and your Google account identifier. We do not access your Google contacts, Drive, or any other Google data.
- Caterer business information — trading/legal name, ABN, address, service areas, listings, and any verification documents you upload (e.g. identity, insurance, food-safety certificates).
- Bookings & communications — booking requests, quotes, event details, and messages exchanged between customers and caterers.
- Technical data — sign-in tokens stored in your browser's local storage to keep you logged in, and basic request logs.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and authenticate you (including via Google).
- To operate the marketplace — publishing listings, processing booking requests, quotes, and messages.
- To support compliance and verification (KYC) for caterers.
- To respond to enquiries and provide customer support.
When we share information
- Between users — a customer and a caterer involved in a booking see the details necessary to fulfil it (name, contact, event details, messages).
- Service providers — hosting and database infrastructure (Amazon Web Services, Neon), Google (for sign-in), and, for future payments, Stripe. These providers process data only to provide their service to us.
- Legal — where required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Data retention & security
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, access is restricted, and traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Your choices & rights
You can view and update your name and email from your account settings, and change or reset your password at any time. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. You can also disconnect Google sign-in by using a password login instead.
Children
GoCatering is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
